A new year, and a new name

Happy New Year from the EKU Choirs! Our fall semester was a busy one, with performances at the opening gala of the brand new EKU Center, the annual EKU Choral Day festival, fall concert, Hazard Christmas Choral Festival, the Richmond Rotary Club, and the revamped Madrigal Dinner, now known as DECK THE HALLS! Our spring semester promises to be just as outstanding, including a tour of eastern and southern Kentucky to perform for high school choirs, performances with the EKU Percussion Ensemble and Steel Band, and our spring concert.

To kick-off the new year, the small vocal ensemble formerly known as Madrigal Singers has a new name: CHAMBER SINGERS. This change more accurately reflects the expanded mission and repertoire of this group, which is now a year-round ensemble.

If you are a member of the EKU Choirs, I hope you have had a wonderful break and are ready for another exciting semester of music-making. Please continue to encourage your friends to come join us. Auditions for Chamber Singers and University Singers will be held on the first day of classes (Monday, January 9; 11:30 am - 4:00 pm) in Foster 104.

If you are a follower of our program, thank you. We hope to see you at one of our many events this spring. Click here for our complete calendar.
